AMS was founded by Samer Al-Shami, a former Lead Accreditation Specialist with the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and Senior Client Manager to a broad range of national and international laboratories. His extensive expertise in metrology, laboratory systems, and accreditation requirements provides the foundation for AMS’s trusted consultancy services.
Our Story
About the Founder – Samer Al-Shami
With over 25 years of experience in laboratory accreditation, metrology, and quality systems, Samer brings a rare combination of technical depth and regulatory insight.
Prior to founding AMS, Samer held senior roles at the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), where he worked extensively as a Senior Client Manager and advisor to laboratories across Australia and internationally. His portfolio included complex accreditations, Machinery of Government (MoG) transitions, and emerging technologies.
Samer’s career also spans hands-on technical roles in calibration laboratories and public sector organisations, giving him a well-rounded perspective on both laboratory operations and accreditation system requirements.

• Extensive background in ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, metrology and uncertainty of measurement
• Lead roles in assessment, internal audits, method validation, and calibration capability reviews
